This website is all about Propecia as its name would suggest. We think that this medication is nowhere near as popular as it should be and that the main cause for this is the fact that people simply cannot find enough information on it. This is something that we wanted to change and that is still the main reason why we wanted to start this blogsite. As part of this blogsite, we simply had to include an article in which we would compare the different natural hair loss products that are being sold with Propecia just to illustrate the difference between these options and to try and describe how much better Propecia is.
Let’s just take a look at these different products. They range from tonics, shampoos, powders to the different dietary supplements that are also being commonly sold as solutions for hair loss. These products rely on a number of various natural ingredients that are somehow supposed to help you keep your hair. The problem with these is that their mechanism of action is never completely explained and the reason behind this is that they do not work and that there is no mechanism of action to be explained. You will hear sentences like “yohimbe (a completely random example, perhaps does not have anything to do with hair loss) is great as it rejuvenates your hair follicles and helps your hair grow back.” And that is supposed to be scientific explanation.
On the other hand, there is Propecia, a drug whose mechanism of action is explained by science and that goes a little bit like this, keep in mind that this is a somewhat simplified version. Propecia works by blocking the action of something called 5 alpha reductase. This is an enzyme that is instrumental in converting hormone into another hormone called dihydrotestosterone, which is a much more potent version of testosterone and which causes deterioration of the follicles. This way, Propecia stops hair loss by lowering the levels of DHT in the scalp tissue.
We would also like to say a thing or two about the safety of these various options. For instance, you will often hear that these natural products are a
great way to stop hair loss as they are entirely natural and therefore safe. There are a few problems with this. First of all, just because something is natural it does not mean that it is safe. Crocodiles are perfectly natural but you do not see people bathing with them in order to stop hair loss. Also, and this might not be something you are familiar with, natural products are not under jurisdiction of FDA, which means that the FDA only gets involved if something goes horribly wrong, which is something that has happened in the past.
On the other hand, Propecia is a medication that comes with the list of potential adverse effects, with the full list of ingredients and everything else that ensures that you are as safe as humanly possible.
